Steps to Replacing a Brake Light

  • Purchase the Correct Bulbs: First, find and purchase the bulbs that will fit your vehicle. Refer to your owner’s manual for the correct bulb size and voltage for your specific INFINITI vehicle.
  • Remove Tail Light Housing: With the new bulb ready to go, remove the colored lens that hides the brake light bulbs. This can be done with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Once the cover is out of the way, go ahead and remove the bulb.
  • Replace the Bulb: Before installing the new brake-light bulb, apply a bit of dielectric grease to the end to prevent corrosion and rust. This will also make it easier to remove the bad bulb when it’s time to change it again. Put the new bulb in place, reattach the taillight housing, and you’re all set to drive safely around the Downers Grove area.
