The holiday season will soon be upon us. Not only is it a wonderful chance to spend time with friends and loved ones, but it’s also the perfect time to get into the spirit by attending some fun activities around town. Clarendon Hills Christmas Walk

On December 7th, gather the family and head Village Hall for the Christmas Walk. This event takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will include the lighting of the Christmas tree at 6 p.m., as well as Victorian carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides, free food and drinks, ice sculptures, and warm chestnuts and candied nuts. At 7 p.m. there will even be a visit from Santa himself at the Triangle!

Gingerbread House Decorating

Get into the holiday spirit by decorating your very own gingerbread house. This event will take place on December 2nd from 10 p.m. to noon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Promenade Bolingbrook nearby. Put your creativity to use to build Santa’s dream home made of frosting, candy, and other holiday treats. You can also have your finished masterpiece photographed for social media if you want! Registration is $10 per house and 100% of the proceeds benefit the Bolingbrook High School Choir for their trip to New York City to sing at Carnegie Hall.

Lunch with Santa

Would your family like to spend more time with Santa this holiday season? On December 9, you can enjoy Lunch with Santa at the Clarendon Hills Community Center. Enjoy a delicious meal and make some holiday crafts or decorate cookies as you sing along to holiday music. And don’t miss the main event – photos with Santa! Each child will have the chance to tell St. Nick himself what they’d like for Christmas this year. This is even is $12/person for residents and $15/person for residents of nearby communities.

Ride the Train with Santa

Everyone loves the Polar Express, right? On December 1st from  1 p.m. to 3 p.m., families can enjoy their own Polar Express and ride the train with Santa! The train will depart from the Clarendon Hills Metra Station, and you will enjoy story time, hot chocolate, and cookies and you head to the North Pole (the Aurora stop). You’ll pick up Santa and he’ll ride back, singing songs with the children and taking photos. This even is for Clarendon Hills residents only is is $20/person. It’s recommended that you register early as this event is a popular one.
